cyanotypes

My delight this summer has been learning the cyanotype process. This alternative photographic printing process was invented by Sir John Herschel in 1872 and I love how the process can be mixed with digital photography, object-based photograms, or by drawing directly on a clear photographic negative. There are examples of all of these variations here. Each print is unique and is dependent on the time of day and the intensity of the UV frequency present in the sunlight.
